In May this year two young people from The St. Matthew’s Project took part in a week’s work experience with Effra Digital.
Each participant had a week of experience jointly shared between Effra Digital and The St. Matthew’s Project.
Effra Digital and The St. Matthew’s Project have been working closely for a number of years on website, branding and digital marketing and this was a great chance to collaborate further and give our young people a valuable week of work experience.
In advance of the work experience we agreed the structure for the week, how the time should be shared and what the overall objectives were for the placements.
During their time on work experience the participants had the chance to work in a shared office: Impact Brixton as well as at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall. Topics included: what a digital agency does, introduction to clients and live projects, as well as practical introductions to WordPress and tools such as Canva. We then gave them specific projects on The St. Matthew’s Project website including updating the website, adding content and working on social media content.
This was the first work experience collaboration between Effra and The St. Matthew’s Project and we felt that it’s been a very positive experience for all. We were very impressed with the professionalism and maturity of the two participants who both have a bright future ahead of them.
