Analytics Dashboards That Drive Impact
At Effra, we believe that data should be more than just numbers — it should tell a story. When working with clients, our goal is to convert strategic objectives into measurable metrics, surface them in workable dashboards, and help organisations truly understand their impact.
1. Aligning on Objectives & Strategy
Every dashboard project begins with clarity on why the dashboard matters. We conduct workshops with stakeholders to map out the organisation’s strategic goals (e.g. “increase user retention,” “boost enquiries” “increase returning users”). This step ensures that the dashboard will measure what truly matters — not vanity metrics.
From those objectives we identify high-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) per goal. We also define the supporting metrics (e.g. feature usage, referral sources) that feed into those KPIs.
2. Data Audit & Integration
With objectives agreed, we audit the client’s existing data: CRMs, Google Analytics (or equivalent), marketing tools, internal tools, and third-party systems. We assess data quality, missing values, and transformation needs. Where data gaps exist, we help set up new tracking or integrations.
3. Dashboard Design & Prototyping
Before diving into full development, we create wireframes that present KPIs at a glance (e.g. scorecards, trend lines) and allow drill-downs into supporting metrics. We use a user-centred approach: the stakeholders who will consume the dashboards help validate whether the proposed layout helps them.
4. Build, Iterate & Validate
We build the dashboards using tools suited to the client’s environment (normally in Looker Studio) and hold regular reviews with stakeholders for feedback and validation. This ensures that the dashboard is not just technically correct, but genuinely useful and aligned to the team’s existing reporting workflows.
5. Embedding Use & Measuring Impact
A dashboard is only useful if people use it—and act on it. We help integrate dashboards into regular processes: monthly executive reviews, team check-ins, or automated email alerts. We advise on governance: who owns which dashboards, who can edit, and how change requests are managed.
The dashboards we build aren’t just reporting tools — they help organisations measure what matters and amplify their impact.
